Cannes Lions Festival

It was exciting to represent Georgia at the Cannes Lions Festival. Winning the competition in Georgia, out of 84 teams, was magical. It was just another attempt, but it worked. In the briefs and works, you can see all my submissions from different years.

Although I couldn’t succeed at the global level competition in Cannes, it was still worth the fight. After 1.5 years, I remember a couple of things that I want to reflect on:

  1. If you try something with heart and diligence multiple times, the probability of magic happening increases exponentially.
  2. We are all equal, regardless of the country we come from, and we don’t need a special environment to be creative. We have equal capabilities when it comes to creativity. As an example, in my year at Cannes, Pakistan won 1st place, and Australia came in 2nd.
  3. Participating in a healthy competition is like medicine. You learn dedication, resilience, listening, admiration, humility, respect, and lifelong lessons.

Although I am usually not the most creative person in the room and have more technical skills, creativity exists within everyone—it just needs to be discovered. I can’t even say that I’ve fully become a “creative person.” It was just one shot, for now.

I strongly believe that creativity will help our country and our planet thrive. It will solve unresolved problems and illuminate a bright future. We have to remain excited about what lies ahead, as Cannes Lions’ 70th festival message reminded us:

This is Your Moment. Make History.
